Salvador Medina

Salvador “Sal” Medina, age 42, passed away on Monday September 20th, 2021.

Sal loved his family and was very passionate about his Hispanic heritage, which he loved to show off. He had a heart of gold and was loyal to the people that he loved. He was well known throughout Phoenix and could make friends with anyone. Salvador loved animals and being outdoors. He also liked to play pool, go to live music events, and watch movies. Sal loved sports, especially the ASU Sun Devils and Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed to have get-togethers, and he was always the life of the party. His smile would light up a room and his beautiful laughter was contagious. Sal was adventurous and loved to explore new areas and try new things. He was very courageous and there were few things that Sal feared.

Sal pursued a career as a tile setter at a very young age and laying tile was his art. He loved to create things and was very talented at it. His tile projects can be found in several establishments throughout the city. He was a very hard worker, and he put his heart into everything he did.

Sal spent the last years of his life living in Laveen with his beloved wife Joanne. He adored his children; Santos, Bella, Alexius and Ashley, Andrew and Aaron, daughter in law Bryanna, son in law Justino, grandsons Adryan, Adonys, A’milyano, Apolonio and their dogs Kane and Naula. He had a beautiful soul and was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed.

Sal is survived by his wife Joanne, 3 daughters Isabella Medina, Alexius Perez, Ashley Arenas (Justino Cordova); 3 sons Santos Medina, Andrew Arenas (Bryanna Diaz), Aaron Arenas; 4 Grandsons Adryan, Adonys, A’milyano, Apoliondo; Mother Alice Coronado (Andy Coronado); Father Salvador Medina Sr; Sisters Tinker Medina, Guera Galvan, Pebbles Elizondo, Leslie Medina, Corina Medina, Aloha Medina; and brother Jeremiah Coronado. Sal is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts. Uncles, cousins, God Children, friends, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Santos Medina Sr., Father in Law Cristoval Reyes, Mother in Law Aurelia Ana Obregon, niece Alicia Elizondo, and sister in law Christine Reyes.

A celebration of life will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd Phoenix, AZ 85018, on Sunday October 3, 2021 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
