Melvin N. Theisen

Peacefully passed away on Saturday August 1, 2009 at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his wife Doris, a sister Jeanette Schmitz and was preceded in death by his three brothers Elmer, Earl, and Gerald. He and his wife Doris have been married for 63 years and have been residents of Phoenix, Arizona since 1961 and most recently at a Scottsdale retirement village. Melvin was born on March 15th, 1920 the son of Frank and Lena Theisen of Belgium, WI. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the European/African Theater. After moving to Phoenix he was employed by McGraw Edison Company. He was a 50-year member of the Catholic Order of Forester, and a member of the Elks Club. Upon retirement he enjoyed volunteer work at St Vincent de Paul and was an avid baseball fan. Visitation will be from 9:00 -10:00 am, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 52nd and Thomas Road where he ushered and was a member. Father Chuck Kieffer, a long time friend will officiate. Interment will follow at St Francis Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
