October 4, 2021 Leave A Condolence

In Memorial

Amelia Christakis Michal, passed away on September 14, 2021. She spent the majority of her career in education with an interest in Special Education. During her retirement Amelia enjoyed many fun years at the Beatitudes.
Her memory will live on with her nieces, Carole (Nick) Rayes, Irene Georgas, nephew, John C. (Cindy) Christakis; grandnieces and nephews: Jacqueline Christakis (Kasey Kartchner), Alexander Christakis, Nikki (Blair) Ballin, Jerry Smith, Amanda Smith great grandnieces Zoe Ballin and Dallas Smith and great grandnephew, Hudson Ray Kartchner and another blessing expected in April.
She left a lasting impression among both young and old. Amelia will be remembered for her sense of humor, endless energy, giving heart and love of life. We would remiss without making mention of her love of dancing, music and singing.
Amelia was a blessing to her family and friends and we are grateful for all the heartfelt memories.
In honor of our Aunt, please be the reason that someone smiles today.
The family will celebrate Amelia’s life in a private ceremony.

Amelia and I became well acquainted through her niece Carole. What I will always remember is how excited Amelia became whenever we talked about travel. I’d pull up colorful itineraries on the computer which we’d huddle over as we launched into discussions about travel . Despite her awareness that her health was declining, she was motivated by thoughts about what might still be do-able. She was a woman of courage as she faced the fragility of increasing years but she certainly enjoyed living in the realm of possibilities. I shall miss our visits.
