February 18th, 2016 our Beautiful Jenna Rose Mickelson, full of grace and song entered heaven peacefully as she was enveloped in a lavender, gold and rainbow cocoon in her Mother Lisa’s Arms.  Jenna was born March 31st, 1991 during Passover, and on Easter Day.  The angels surely serenaded Jenna the day she was born.  God placed Jenna right in the center, sandwiched between two loving sisters that adored her, Amanda and Hayley.  Jenna was always a Daddy’s little girl who lit up like the sun when Daddy (Tom) entered the room.  Jenna’s family always felt like Jenna was a princess, and were honored to be in her presence.  Jenna’s giggle, and love language can only be described as ” supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” extraordinary!

Jenna had an amazing life, although she had special needs, with challenges she faced every moment, she was a trooper throughout everything, and in all circumstances, she radiated overflowing unconditional love to all.  Throughout Jenna’s journey she was very social and enjoyed being around people, and especially loved babies, and young children.  Jenna loved her pups Buddy and Casper.  She enjoyed school and homeschooling, and she always worked hard during all of her therapies which included Music (Jenna loved music), OT, PT, & Speech.  She especially loved swimming with her Daddy.  She also loved taking walks near the horse ranch with her Mom.

Jenna was involved with the miraculous finding of the Rett Syndrome gene, and continues to inspire the medical community regarding finding a cure.  Jenna lived at home with her family who doted on her, and kissed her all the time, and will miss her sweetness, but truly know she is free now, and is in heaven.  Jenna also had Caregivers and Nurses, who contributed to Jenna’s care, to help make Jenna’s world extra lovely at home.  Jenna also had lots of family, and friends that loved her dearly.  All who knew Jenna felt they were touched by an angel.  Jenna will be forever in all of our hearts!

There will be a Memorial and Celebration of life.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jenna’s memory to www.ryanhouse.org or www.rettsyndrome.org

My deepest condolences. Jenna was a light and an inspiration. I hope that speech I gave about her all those years ago shed light on her condition and raised awareness.

Lisa, Tom and Family:

The last time I saw you Lisa was at Costco or Fry’s? I just sent Jenna’s obituary to Caitlin who is expecting a boy in May. Reading your lovely poignant tribute to Jenna reminded me of what love Caitlin was surrounded by when you babysat her all those years ago. You and your family had just begun your journey that would eventually lead you to the Rett Syndrome gene. Jenna was born into a perfect – for – her family. Thinking of you all with love.

You are such an amazing family, and I am truly blessed to have been a part of yours and Jenna’s life. The time I had spent with Jenna are precious memories I will forever hold in my heart. To the loving family of the little angel, Jenna: My heart goes out to you, as her family, because I know you must miss her very much. Yet, it is in knowing someone as special as Jenna that our lives are truly blessed. Thinking about all the lives she touched and how much she loved and was loved is what life is all about. During Jenna’s lifetime she made an impact on so many lives, and now God took her back to heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
