Bertha Miller, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on August 24, 2015 at age 95. Bertha was born in Cissna Park, Illinois on June 7, 1920 to Bertha and Martin Reuter. She left high school early to help her dad in his business. She helped with wallpapering, painting and driving the truck. She left home and lived with a family to be their nanny and housekeeper. She met Melvin on a blind date. Some time later they eloped to St. Louis in 1939.
They raised their family in Carlock and Eureka, Illinois before moving to Sun City, AZ in their later years. After Melvin’s death she lived out her years in Mesa to be nearer to her AZ children.
She will be remembered as a gentle soul with a big welcoming smile, hearty laugh, accepting ways and an endearing and often naive sense of humor. We all remember her many cards for every ocassion and her kind words. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson. She is survived by her six children, Larry (Anna), Donald (Carolyn), Barbara Windley (Keith), Connie Rients (Craig), Terry (Kathy) and Dean, 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren.

My mom and i enjoyed having Bertha as part of the Fairbrook Grove family. It was always fun to be with her during all of the parties and special times. I know you will miss her – she was a spacial lady.
