Constance P. Mitchell was born on December 5, 1942 and passed on to new life on October 11, 2022 just shy of her 80th birthday. She was known as Connie to those who knew her best. She is survived by nieces and nephews (Amber Wanielista, Athena Staedicke, Justin Wanielista, Scott Gronek); Como her rescue pup; grand nieces and nephews (Andrew, Matthew, Vincent, & Anton in Arizona and Kristen, Blaine, & Clay in Florida). She was preceded in death by (mother Helen Mitchell, father Anton Mitchell, sisters Angela Wanielista, Barbra Gronek, aunt Kitty, nephew Mark Gronek and dogs: Laura, Gypsy, Maple, & Mandi).

Connie grew up in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, in a home her father built and designed. Even though Connie was disabled, she never let it slow her down. She enjoyed horseback riding, shopping, exploring, and time with family. She was a crafty, humorous girl who completed high school and worked within a charity organization. After her father, Anton Mitchell passed she and her mother moved to Arizona to reside with their extended family.

Connie lived in Arizona most of her life and was known for her strong will, colorful personality, innovation, appreciation of the arts, and fondness for horses, and dogs (especially huskies and wolfs). She trained her dogs for agility and obedience, even though she could not exhibit her dogs in competition due to her disabilities. Volunteers stepped in to exhibit her pups in the competition ring which they won several awards. Connie lived life her way and will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in Constance Mitchell in memory to Connie to Husky and Wolf rescue (https://azhuskyrescue.com and https://eagletailmountain.com) where Connie was a longstanding, committed supporter to husky and wolf in need.

A Graveside Service will be held at Saint Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St. Phoenix on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
