It was a joy to be Pat’s friend. My first time talking with her was when she called me in California to let me know that I had been accepted to the College of Nursing as ASU. I met her when I arrived to the College in Tempe. We then saw each other over the years at church, neighborhood meetings, at our Coffee Klatch, St Vincent de Paul Restoring Hope Breakfasts, Book Club, Las Fuentes Clinic, walks around the neighborhood, lunches at Barrio Queen and other places, political discussions, selling her house, the move to Friendship Village and then to the residential care home. When COVID-19 occurred, we had good discussions about Public Health and the need for better education in that field. I last read an article to her about Las Fuentes Clinic and although she was not mentioned, perhaps because it was many years after she retired when it was written, she remarked how clearly written it was and that it gave a good summary of what the clinic did. I will miss Pat very much.

Pat contributed her time and effort in launching The College of Nursing Clinic in Scottsdale in the early 1980s. She was the Director of Education for the clinic. She continued to be a clinic advocate for many years. I enjoyed working with her to make the clinic a success. Pat was always very professional and smart. I always admired her greatly.

My sincerest and heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family of Dr. Moore. I had the honor and privilege of working with Dr. Moore in the community of Guadalupe. She always had a strong passion and love for our community in ensuring their health, safety and wellness. May she rest in peace after living her purpose and dreams.

I’m very sorry to hear o f Pats passing, although it is comforting to know she no longer must suffer. She was a wonderful faculty member and made many contributions to the College of Nursing. She was always on top of legal and political happenings ,and truly admired for her stands on issues. She and I worked closely on many projects and became good friends. I felt very sad watching her lose her health, but even through that ,she remained strong and gracious.

Pat was such a special person. I met Pat through Sharon Ponce during my first year in Tempe. I have known Sharon since we all lived in California., and then lived near Sharon and Pat for the two years I resided in Tempe. A small group of women went to “coffee” about once a month. Our little coffee group continued to meet even after I moved to north Scottsdale, so I would contact the members of our group and organize a meeting. Pat enjoyed these meetings and would almost always attend. We would talk and discuss our families, ASU, health concerns in the community, the world… of course we would “solve the problems of the world” during these coffees. Once Pat moved to Friendship Village, Sharon would drive Pat to the “coffees.” When it was too difficult for Pat to attend the “coffees” Sharon and I would sometimes meet her at Friendship Village and have coffee in their cafe. Although Pat’s body was failing her, her mind was still sharp! It was always my pleasure to visit Pat. Pat invited me to attend two of the St Vincent de Paul fund-raising breakfasts with her, which I happily attended. Because of Pat, I learned so much about the St Vincent de Paul Society in Phoenix…Thanks, Pat! The world has lost a wonderful, intelligent, caring and loving woman. Rest in Peace, Pat!
