I admired my Tia Maria so. She was my hero and am saddened by her passing she was 98 years young and could still out work us in the kitchen making her tamales! Ray & I and my boys will truly miss her!

Dear Frances, Carlos, Annette and my little cousins,
I just wanted to send my strength, love and prayers to you all at this time. I’m so sorry and I know how hard and lonely it feels without Aunt Mary. When Uncle Tommy called to tell me what happened, it just made me recall such good and loving memories of my summers in Arizona. When we visited, Aunt Mary spoiled us (just like Frances did) with whatever we wanted. When all of us would be running in and out of the house yelling and breaking things, she would smile at me and tell everyone else to behave. I had the best time staying with y’all, listening to Mexican music on the car radio, listening to Donna Summer’s album over and over again, and my Tata having a party in Superior for the whole family. The best memories in my life are from being with my family and I will carry that happiness and love with me always as you will with her memory. May God be with you and carry you through this season. Lani sends her love and prayers to you all. Blessings and love, Johanna Box-Fox and Barry Fox; Lani, Shayne, Ava Hlavacek, Ethan and Johanna Elleree Singleton.
