I remember meeting Dee through Ken Rippee back in 1979. I considered Dee one of my best friends and confidants. Over the years I’m grateful he got to meet and bond with my family. I spoke to him 4:30, 2 hours before he passed. He sounded content and was happy I was coming over to watch Super Bowl with him. The day after he passed away I heard a motor I swore was coming from Firebird Raceway but I don’t think they had race. He’s always present in my house as I still use his old Yamaha receiver, a Panasonic receiver in my bedroom he got me in a trade, 2 JBL bookshelfs in living room and his 70″ SBR. Clay and I are both grateful we got to spend time with him. He will be missed.
I met Dee and Joannie through my husband Vince Hatcher. Dee was a very generous, funny and talented man who was always looking for a way to share that with you! He loved the Steelers and I the Cowboys so we had a few rousing conversations regarding who is the best. Agreed to disagree! He lives on in my memory with that side ways snicker look he gave and his laugh. We sat in his living room recently listening to Primus and Rush, why? because we could! I am a better person for having met he and Joannie. You are missed DeeDee.
Rest In Peace my old friend. I miss you dearly.
Rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.
I hung out with Dee from time to time, usually cruising Central with “Tumbling Dice”
Was not aware of his passing until I was looking him up concerning my experience with the famous Von Dutch.
Recall going with him to pick up his car after it was pinstriped.
Always funny, always seemed to be smiling.
