Nadine Adrienne Morris Shaughnessey died on Sunday, 20 January 2008, at age 95. She was active in the Associated Alumnae of the Sacred Heart and graduated from Eden Hall in Philadelphia and The Sault in Montreal. She was the wife of Colonel Leo William Henry Shaughnessey, a 1934 graduate of West Point, who was in charge of the Arizona National Guard in the 1960’s and 70’s. Mrs. Shaughnessey is survived by her oldest son Philip, her daughter Ann McCage, and her youngest son Michael. Her son Peter, who graduated from the USMA in 1964, died in 1996 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. Her grandchildren are Marcus Gregor, Philip’s son; Shaun and Raymond McCage and Monique Kelly, Ann and Travis McCage’s children; Ian and Evan Shaughnessey, Michael and Gail’s sons. Her brother Robert Arthur Morris lives in Avon, Connecticut. Nadine’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Austin Morris of Staten Island, NY and her grandparents were M. and Mme. Francois Ducasse of France and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Morris of New York City. She has nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. and the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 24th, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Ave., on Friday, January 25th at 10:30 A.M. and she will be buried at the National Cemetery in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona alongside her beloved husband, Leo.
