Nicole Rodia, 16, is now being held in the loving arms of our Lord. She was tragically taken from us April 6, 2008. She was born on May 26, 1991, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nikki was an angel during her short stay on Earth. A graduate of St. Theresa Catholic School, she was a junior at St. Mary’s High School. Nicole was a straight-A student, a member of the National Honor Society as well as a member of the Knights Chapter of the National English Honor Society. She also earned her academics letter. Nicole played on the girls’ JV softball team and was an avid swimmer, earning three letters in swimming. She also had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She was a lifeguard and water safety instructor for the City of Phoenix in the summer, and she worked part-time at Starbucks. Giving of herself and always using good judgment were her trademarks. Everywhere Nicole went she made new friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her – we will all miss her brilliant smile, kind heart and beautiful big brown eyes. Nicole is survived by her parents, Bill and Andrea Rodia, her sister, Rachel, her grandparents, Jerry and Grace Siccardi, Lou Rodia and Eileen Abadie, her aunts and uncles, Dennis Ippolito, David and Lisa Haliczer, and Lou and Debbie Rodia, cousins, Zeke, Emily and Michael, and many friends of all ages. Visitation to begin at 6 p.m., and Scripture Service will begin at 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd. A “Celebration of Life” Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, at St. Theresa Catholic Church followed by burial services at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s High School General Scholarship Fund, 2525 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, AZ 85004. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
