Alex O. Flores

Alex O. Flores, Jr was born to his loving parents Alex Sr. and Amelia O. Flores on December 13, 1964, in Phoenix, Arizona, and passed into the next life on February 7th, 2026 in Athens, Texas. He lived a life worthy of remembering as he demonstrated what unconditional love means.

From a young age, Alex built enduring friendships. He participated in karate, studying Shuri-Ryu with a renowned master, and traveled with his parents and grandparents all over the country participating in tournaments. He achieved the title of National Champion and made many friends and enjoyed these friendships over decades.

Alex graduated from Phoenix College and Arizona State University and had long-term positions in data security and IT with Bank of America and US Foods, where he worked for almost 20 years. In addition to his job with US Foods, he found time to train for and become a volunteer firefighter where he built more friendships in a community with the purpose of helping others.

Alex leaves behind his wife of nearly 25 years, Kit, his mother Amelia, Aunts and Uncles Norma and Tony Barraza and Elias and Norma Orosco, cousins Dodie Estrada (Jose), Tony Barraza (Teresa), Matt Barraza (Renee), Elizabeth Flores, Sandy Orosco, and Elias Orosco in addition to an abundance of aunts, uncles and cousins all over Arizona, California, and Texas. In death, Alex is reunited with his father Alex Sr. and grandparents Teodora and Frank Orosco, carried forward in love and the enduring bond of family.

Services will be at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home on Monday February 23, 2026, with interment at Glendale Memorial Park immediately after the Celebration of Life. Viewing will begin at 9:00am, with Celebration of Life at 10:00am and interment at the cemetery at 12:00pm. The Celebration of Life at 10:00am will also be viewable via livestream using the link below:
