Alveena Mary Moir

Alveena Mary (Geisler) Moir, age 97, born May 21st, 1927 in Hamilton Ohio, died July 7th, 2024 in Phoenix, AZ. Alveena was brought to Phoenix in 1929 by her parents, Robert and Loretta Geisler. She married Gordon Moir in 1949. Alveena was preceded in death by her husband Gordon and brother Robert/ wife Janelle. She is survived by her three children, Mary Louise, James Alexander and Elizabeth Ann/ husband Kenny, Grandchildren Jessica, Robert, Thomas, Sheena, Stacey, 17 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. As well as three nieces and a nephew.

Alveena graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1945 and ASU in 1949. She taught at Madison School and St. Agnes School for several years. In addition, she founded and operated La Paloma Flower Shop for 18 years until her retirement.

 As a former Florist she would appreciate flowers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix. Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Monday, July 15th at 10:00 a.m. at 1954 N. 24th Street in Phoenix. Burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Phoenix.
