Anna Marie (Martinez) Zielezinski age 70, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Anna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend to all who had the privilege to meet her and will be deeply missed by all. Anna, a fourth generation native Arizonan, was born on March 6, 1956, in Winslow, Arizona to Dolores and Tony Martinez but grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where she graduated from Saint Agnes Catholic Elementary School and Saint Mary’s Catholic High School in 1974. Anna first met the love of her life, Phoenix Firefighter Frank Zielezinski, at her sister Bernadette’s wedding, years later an unexpected run in at Smitty’s on Camelback Rd. & 18th street quickly led to a date that day and a future together. Frank and Anna enjoyed 12 loving years of matrimony and had one daughter, Bridgette, before Frank’s passing in 1997; the family is comforted knowing that Anna and Frank are reunited together in eternity.
Anna wore many titles and worked many jobs throughout her life. Working various jobs within the medical field and as a Fragrance Sales Specialist with Estée Lauder. Despite her multiple careers, she was most passionate about her vocation as a mother, auntie, grandmother, friend. Whether it was her daughter’s volleyball match, nephew’s football game, or granddaughter’s softball game, Anna was always present, passionate and loud in being her family’s number one supporter throughout all of their endeavors in athletics or otherwise. Her devotion to her faith and religion was paramount, and showed in her everyday actions. She will be remembered for her true class, humor, faith, strength in difficult times and unending kindness.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Bridgette (Joe) Leivian; her grandchildren, Sofia, Savannah, and Tristan Leivian; her four siblings, Tony (Barbara) Martinez, Bernadette (Bill) Hanko, Gerard Martinez, and Bridget Trusiak (Adrian). She will always be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by her cousins and dear friends. With her passing, she is reunited with her parents, Tony and Dolores Martinez and her husband, Frank Zielezinski.
A Visitation will be from 5-6PM with a Rosary service held Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 6:00PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 29th at 11:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 4510 North 24th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85008, with the Burial service to follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 North 48th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85008.
Though she will be greatly missed, her memory and legacy will continue to live on through all whose lives she touched.
