Anna Marie Velasquez Fuentes

Anna Marie Velasquez Fuentes, 58, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 27, 1968 to Mary and Richard Fuentes in Phoenix, Arizona. Anna Marie attended Saints Simon and Jude Cathedral School, Roadrunner Elementary School, Palo Verde Middle School, and graduated from Cortez High School.

She is survived by her mother, Mary V. Fuentes; her fraternal twin brother, Richard John Fuentes; her older sister, Katrina Fuentes Borcherdt (Jerry); and her niece and goddaughter, Misako Elizabeth Yamazaki.

Anna Marie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fuentes; her paternal grandparents, Telesforo and Felice Fuentes; her maternal grandparents, Miguel and Ruperta Velasquez; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved family pets.

She will be remembered for her nurturing compassion; the way she cared deeply, intensely, about those she loved most; and for all the softness in her that the world still couldn't harden.

We will always love her to the moon and back.

Funeral Services will be held on the morning of Saturday, August 29, 2026 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, 3424 N. 18th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85015. (Cross streets are 19th Ave. & Osborn Road.)

The Rosary will begin at 10:30AM, with the Mass starting at 11:00AM.

The burial will be held at a later date.
