Annemarie Pieri left this world to join our Heavenly Father and Blessed Mary on December 29th, 2025. She will be joyfully reunited with her husband Paul and her daughters Michelle and Yvette.
Annemarie was born to Edward and Bertha Bower on April 3, 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona and is survived by Rene’ (Rich), Dean (Patsy), Darren (Mark), Drew (Ana), Derek (Josephine), Damon (Jenny) and John Devon, as well as, her siblings Jeanne Olson, Craig Bower Jr. (Sue), Eric Bower (Kathy), Loren Bower (John) and Bret Bower.
Annemarie was the proud Grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Annemarie attended St Mary’s Elementary School and went on to graduate from St Mary’s High School in 1956 where she was voted Homecoming Queen and learned to love the written word. She maintained strong friendships with many of her classmates up to the end of her life.
Annemarie enjoyed writing stories and submitting them to different publications, including the Arizona Republic, where many of her stories were published. She once wrote a story about a hotel in town that offered a free night stay for your children. To add fact to the story, she put all 9 of us in the van and drove us to the hotel where she checked herself and Paul in. The Manager told her kids had to stay in the same room as the parents. So, she had all 9 kids walk into the lobby and stand in front of the Manager! At that point, it didn’t take her long to convince the Manager that an additional room, or maybe 2, would be best. The Manager fully agreed. This story was then published in Readers Digest as well as the Arizona Republic.
In addition to her passion for writing, she also worked in the secretarial pool for the House of Representatives until she retired after 30 years.
She loved her animals, time spent at her cabin, quilting and watching her children and grandchildren play a variety of sports but was most passionate about her favorite team, The Diamondbacks. She rarely ever missed a game and was always encouraging people to watch the game with her.
Special thanks to La Sienna for making Moms last months very busy, exciting and oh so very HAPPY. She truly enjoyed living there and was always trying to recruit her friends to live there as well.
