Arcenia (Chena) Vasquez

Arcenia Vasquez, born September 26, 1944 in Florence, AZ has peacefully passed away at 80 years old on August 25, 2025 at Banner Hospital. She dedicated her life to the ones she loved the most as well as her work. She loved to cook day or night for herself, or others; it was her ultimate passion. She was the most loving, caring and most compassionate person you could have ever known. If you ever came across her she’d leave an impact on your mind and heart. You could always rely on her for a helping hand and give you the last of what she had. She had the most tender heart, a true blessing on this earth. Arcenia leaves us all with a deep hole in our heart but her memories will keep her memory and spirit alive and will never be forgotten.

Chena was preceded in death by her mother Ophelia and her father Raymond Bonillas and her siblings Alice, Arnold, Erma, and Francisco. She is survived by her children Robert, Timothy, Christina and Francisco; siblings Raymond and Eleanor; all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Entombment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery-Mausoleum, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
