Barbara Jo “Barb” Fulton, 80, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on October 22, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, Barb spent nearly her entire life in Arizona, where she lived for 75 years and built a legacy rooted in family, service, and love.
A graduate of Tempe Union High School, Barb began her career as a medical secretary at Good Samaritan Hospital. After welcoming her daughter, Kimberly, she devoted herself to motherhood, a role she cherished above all others. During those years, she spent countless hours volunteering at St. Agnes Elementary School, where she became affectionately known as “the candy lady” and “the raffle lady” for her dedication to school fundraising campaigns.
In her later years, Barb returned to the medical field as a medical coder, ultimately retiring from Desert Valley Radiology. Her work ethic, kindness, and steady presence touched colleagues and friends throughout her career.
Barb was a woman of many talents. She was an excellent cook, a skilled seamstress in her early years, and a lifelong animal lover who always had one or two dogs by her side. But above all, she excelled at being a loving mother and a doting grandmother. She will be remembered most for the joy she found in spoiling her grandson, Samuel, and for the deep, unwavering love she carried for her family.
Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 22 years, Kenneth Fulton, and her sister, Sandra Raver. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Desrosiers, her grandson, Samuel Lowie, and her nieces and nephews: Joann Reter (Steve), Debbie Raver, Jody Hurley (Tom), Shari Johnston, Billy Raver, and Tammy Warfel.
A graveside service will be held on October 23, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal organization of your choice, in honor of Barb’s lifelong love for animals.
Barb’s warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
