PHOENIX – On the early morning of January 24, 2022, our beloved mother passed away in her home and was surrounded by family. She fought breast cancer but succumbed to bone and spinal cancer. She was born on July 30, 1946, to Bernard J. and Margaret C. Boehnlein in Mishawaka, IN. She grew up in Phoenix where she attended elementary school at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Grade School and then Xavier College Preparatory, graduating in 1964. Since the 1950’s, she was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was very devoted to her religious beliefs. Her biggest passion was taking care of her family. She really loved being surrounded by family and friends and had the gift of making them feel welcome in her home. She was the major advocate for her Autistic son, Steven, and dedicated her life to his care without neglecting her other two children. She was kind and giving; she never complained but she was strong willed and would not hesitate to let you know her feelings. She had a good sense of humor and listened to whatever you wanted to say. She is survived by former spouse, Wally; children–Jenifer, Steven, and Michael and his wife Krystal; grandchildren–Elizabeth and her husband Steven, Jackson, and Cecilia; great grandchildren–Kaylee and Logan; and her brother Jim and his wife Pat.

A memorial service is being held at Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue in Phoenix on Thursday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. (a rosary will be said in her memory at 10 a.m.). If you wish to attend the memorial service virtually, visit www.staphx.org on the service date and time to access the live streaming from the church.
