Catherine Aeed Michaels

Catherine passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Scottsdale, AZ after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born in Glendale, Arizona on April 15, 1947, to Marie Musial and Walter Colwell. Cathy was a proud Arizona Native and loved Arizona. She graduated from Carl Hayden High School in 1965 and later earned her Associate Degree from Phoenix College in Interior Design. She married James Aeed in 1968 and had two children, Caroline Aeed and Michael Aeed. She raised her family in Scottsdale and was devoted to her Orthodox Christian Faith. She will always be remembered for her deep belief in God and finding His strength while facing any adversity. She was an accomplished dancer, fantastic Middle Eastern cook, loved all animals, her plant collection, movies, and art. She was always fashionably dressed opening two clothing stores, Fancy Dancers and Studio 4. As a talented interior designer, she always made her living spaces beautiful. More than anything, Cathy loved big family gatherings and had deep love for her family.

She is survived by her daughter Caroline Aeed (Larry Miller), son Michael Aeed, granddaughter Marlo Southam and devoted partner John DeBrucherye.

Services will take place at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4530 E. Gold Dust Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85028, on Monday November 3, 2025. Viewing will begin at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00am. Interment will take place at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260.

A Mercy Meal will immediately follow at her daughter’s home, 9366 E. Davenport Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Family and friends are invited to join us in prayer and remembrance of Catherine’s life. May her memory be eternal.
