Cecelia (Cece) Leon, passed away peacefully with her loving family on October 3, 2025. Cecelia was born on May 7, 1939 in Phoenix, Arizona to Francisco and Librada Leon. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Leon Sr., and David Barela. Along with many nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends. She attended Riverside Elementary School and Carl Hayden High School. After graduating she worked for AZ Driver’s License, Phx., Police Dept, Phx., Elementary School Dist., and the Dept. of Realtors, only to name a few of her nineteen jobs she held throughout her life. In her younger years she loved to travel with her best friend, Judy, to different parts of Mexico where she met so many friends along the way in the different towns. The Mexican Culture, Mariachi music, Vicente Fernandez, and working in her yard were all dear to her heart. Her devoted faith in the Lord was a big part of her life. Cece had a way of impacting everyone she came across and she was a major influence on many lives. Cece will be remembered for her love for coffee and long conversations.
Services will be held on Thursday October 16, 2025 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd Phx., AZ 85018 from 5:00pm-8:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 17, 2025 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N. 24th St. Phx., AZ 85008 at 10:00 am with the Burial Procession following to St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N 48th St. Phx., AZ 85008.
Remember Cece by treating others with kindness, respect, and helping one another and remember Cece’s favorite saying, “Oye”.
