David Alan Rexroad, known affectionately to many as "Rex," passed away on March 29, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 76 years old. Born on October 24, 1949, in Springfield, Illinois, David lived a life defined by service, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends.

As a young man, David answered his country's call and enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and served bravely during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Sergeant and receiving the National Defense Service Medal. During his service, he also distinguished himself as an M-14 expert. His military career instilled in him a discipline and sense of duty that would guide him for the rest of his life.

After returning from the service, David pursued his education at Arizona State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He went on to work as a bartender at the Moose Lodge in Mesa, where he met the mother of his children. David later became an electrician with Wilson Electric Company before ultimately dedicating over 25 years to the United States Postal Service, serving communities throughout the Valley until his well-earned retirement.

David was the life of every gathering, a man whose laughter and quick wit could light up any room. He was a passionate sports fan who loved cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, and Chicago Cubs, whether watching a game or engaging in spirited conversation about his favorite teams. In his younger years, he cherished summer trips to Colorado and California to visit family and friends, escaping the Arizona heat. In retirement, few things brought him greater joy than attending his grandson Rowan's sporting events. Above all, David was a dedicated, loving father and a hard worker whose warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rexroad George; his son, Ryan Rexroad; his grandson, Rowan Hendrix George; and his brothers, Michael Rexroad and Jim Rexroad. May he rest in eternal peace.
