DeAnne Williamson, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on October 15th, 2026.
DeAnne was a strong-willed, independent woman who worked hard throughout her life to provide for her three children, who were always her pride and joy. She attended Phoenix Union High School, where she formed wonderful friendships that she cherished and maintained throughout her life.
Although her marriage to the father of her children did not last, it brought her the three greatest gifts of her life: Phil McCarty Jr., Joe McCarty, and Shauna McCarty. DeAnne also adored her younger sister, (Janice) Susie, and treasured family gatherings.
DeAnne was an avid reader who loved getting lost in the pages of a good book. She also enjoyed watching old sitcoms and appreciating life’s simple pleasures. Some of her favorite things included Taco Tuesdays, trips to Costco, mango ice cream, and shopping at The White Dove, a nonprofit thrift store supporting Hospice Care in the Valley.
During the last year of her life, DeAnne discovered a special enjoyment in spending time at the senior center. She made new friends and embraced a variety of activities, including playing Uno and painting. These experiences brought her opportunities for friendship, creativity, laughter, and connection, adding joy to her days.
DeAnne will be remembered for her independence, her strong spirit, her dedication to her family, and the love she held for those closest to her. She is survived by her three children, Phil, Joe, and Shauna; and her sister, Janice (Susie) Arnold.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and in the everyday moments and simple pleasures that brought her joy.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers for DeAnne and her family. A special thank you to Hospice of the Valley for their support and care.
