Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Cauble passed away on June 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was 88. Born in August 1936 in Phoenix to parents Anna V. Wallace and Richard E. Wallace, Betty attended St. Agnes Elementary School and Xavier High School (class of ’54). She married David B. Cauble in 1957, and they celebrated 62 years together until his passing in 2019. She was involved in the Phoenix community as a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and the Maricopa County Medical Society Auxiliary. A Cub Scout Den Leader and Girl Scout Leader, she was also active in both the Xavier and Brophy Mothers’ Guild, Radio Rosary, Heard Museum, and North Central Book Club. Betty was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing bridge with life-long friends and spending the summers at the cabin in Munds Park, AZ. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and being a full-time mother and homemaker, her favorite profession.
She is preceded in death by her husband David and oldest son Gregory (Betty Lou). She is survived by her children, Diane (Steve) Norris, Steven, Douglas (Elizabeth) Cauble, and Mary Ellen (Wallace) Beall; six grandsons Ryan (Lauren), Nicholas (Elif), Alex, Zack, Andrew, and Ben; 2 great granddaughters Elizabeth and Natalie; three great grandsons, Henry, Elio, and Cosmo; sister Mary (Neil) Stull; and brother Richard (Deirdre) Wallace.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, July 14 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 4715 N. Central Ave., Phoenix. A celebration of her life reception will immediately follow. The burial will be a private ceremony.
