On May 21st, 2025 the world lost a remarkable woman, Elizabeth (Lisa) Anne Garcia, at the young age of 52. Lisa was compassionate, caring and full of determination. She was a native of Phoenix and a loving mother of five children and 11 grandchildren who made her world go ‘round. Her role as a nurturer began at a very young age when she would help her younger sister get ready for school in the mornings; they were respectively in the 5th and 3rd grades. Her role as a caretaker became something she took to heart- so much so, that she helped raise many nieces and nephews, cared for her father in times of struggling health and eventually became the proud legal guardian of her seven-year-old grandson, fighting hard to make that happen and taking pride in being his biggest advocate.
But Lisa’s determination didn’t start there; at 12 years old, she was the only girl on an all-boy’s baseball team and the following year, she led her 8th grade volleyball team to a state championship. She was proud to be a part of these teams and enjoyed both the competition and the camaraderie with her teammates.
Eventually Lisa’s compassion for family led her to become a stay-at-home mom to care for her five children, build bonds with her grandchildren and care for her niece Sianne for her first year of life, soon becoming her godmother.
When Lisa felt called to reenter the workforce she built a career as an inspector, eventually landing at Honeywell Aerospace. She took her role of ensuring the quality and compliance of products seriously and never complained about working but rather, sought out ways to improve processes and make things better for everyone. She loved her job and her team.
Lisa will be greatly missed by her family, colleagues and friends but her determination lives on in her children and grandchildren. Her compassion will be remembered by her siblings and extended family and her love will remain with those whose lives she touched. It will never be the same for those who were blessed to call her Mom, Nana, Tia, Nina, Mana, a colleague or a dear friend, but many beautiful memories will remain with all.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Vincent “Tito” Garcia, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Yolanda Garcia, her brother, Vincent Garcia Jr., her sister Francine Garcia and her partner Jose’ Castaneda.
She leaves behind her children Monalissa Salazar, Hector Salazar, Christopher Salazar, Vincent Salazar, Isaac Salazar and Elias Garcia, as well as her loving grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
