Erlinda S. Alvarez

Linda Alvarez, age 83, of Phoenix Arizona, passed away on September 15, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones in Chandler, Arizona.

Linda was born on June 14, 1942, in Nogales, Arizona to Armando & Fransisca Sotelo. She was a sister to Gilbert, Joe, Arnulfo, Elvia, Irma, Mary, and Fernando.

She was married to Antonio Alvarez and together they shared three children – Adrian Alvarez, Sylvia Wells, and Christina Chayrez.

Linda is remembered for her kindness, selflessness, and care for others. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and dogs, Dallas & Oreo. She is known for her unwavering faith in God and loved being involved in her church community.

Linda is survived by her children: Adrian Alvarez, Sylvia Wells, and Christina Chayrez. Her grandchildren: Daniel Alvarez, Cassandra Wells, Amanda Shipka, Stephanie Alvarez, Ashley Benavidez, Rochelle Wells, Cierra Bautista, Andrea Cervantes, Adrian Alvarez Jr., and Asha Alvarez. Her great grandchildren: Jayani, Lavonte, Zaya, & Zavier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Alvarez.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 9:00am at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home with a burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow.
