Flo-Ella Maude Stow, 94, born December 13, 1931, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026. Born in Denver, Colorado, she moved to Phoenix as a child, where she attended Kenilworth Elementary School and graduated from North High School in 1950.
Flo-Ella raised her family in Phoenix before pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University. She went on to teach at Shaw Butte Elementary School and Ocotillo Elementary School, where she was a beloved teacher who touched the lives of many students and families.
For many years, Flo-Ella was an active and valued member of the Moon Valley community before moving to the Beatitudes Campus. She was a proud mother and grandmother who, in retirement, enjoyed gardening, book club, traveling, and sharing a good meal, especially Taco Tuesday at La Piñata, with her family. She was always present, generous with her time and love, and incredibly cherished by those around her. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
Flo-Ella was preceded in death by her two sons, Thomas Stow and Charles (Chuck) Stow. She is survived by her daughter, Lois (James) Young; grandson, James (Jay) Young III; and granddaughter, Dr. Kristen Young.
A Catholic graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park at 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85027.
