Jerry always put people first. He enjoyed being a member of many professional organizations over his lifetime and served on their boards joyfully. But Jerry’s generosity didn’t stop in the business world. He gave his time, talents, and treasure to his church, Hillsdale College, Concordia Seminary, Habitat for Humanity and the NRA. His relationship with his friends at Freedom Hall gave him the most satisfaction. He enjoyed the support of the close-knit group and reciprocated by sponsoring many. His kind, positive attitude made him a quiet, trusted leader.
The family cabin at Kohl’s Ranch was Jerry’s favorite getaway. He loved relaxing on the porch, entertaining family and friends, fishing in Tonto Creek and hunting in the area. Being an avid gun collector, Firearms Safety Instructor and Shooting coach he spent many hours on the range and in the woods. As hobbies go, Jerry had a great love of history. Being raised in Maryland, Civil War battlefields were his passion. He was a Life member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and served the organization in many capacities. Most notably, Past Department Commander. His dedication to the Sons started in1996 with the chartering of Picacho Peak Camp #1. He also was a charter member of the General R. H. G.
