Gloria Genevieve Pool, beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and auntie passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 90. She was married to the love of her life, Howard Mason Pool, for 54 years. She was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith joining the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church community in 1963.
Gloria was born and raised in Miami, Arizona, a community that shaped her values and remained close to her heart throughout her life. She shared her love of her hometown with her children, and she and Howard enjoyed their second home there on Holy Spirit Lane for many years. It was also growing up in Miami that she discovered her lifelong love for the Arts. She was a gifted artist having the unique ability to create, paint and sketch landscapes and portraitures from memory. In addition to her artistic talents, Gloria had a deep love of music, dance and singing. She joyfully shared her lovely voice by joining the St. Francis Xavier Church choir, where singing was her source of community, faith and happiness.
Gloria had an aptitude for numbers and began her early career with Valley National Bank. She later gained employment at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she was a loyal and successful Manager over Patient Records & Billing for an astounding 36 years! Throughout her career, Gloria was recognized for her integrity, reliability, and earned the utmost respect from everyone that worked with her.
Above all, Gloria was a devoted mother whose life was defined by her unwavering love, strength, and quiet grace. She gave deeply of herself to her family and will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the steady presence she provided to those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Doreen (Torres) Barragon, Ruby Torres, Victoria Macias, and her devoted husband Howard M. Pool. She is survived by daughters Teresa A. Pool, Mysti D. Herrick (Mike), son Howard “Mason” Pool II (Kelly), grandchildren Aaron, Amber, Madison, Paisley, Peyton, and Raegan. She adored her nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins and so many more dear to her heart. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and carry her love forward. Gloria and Howard were such graceful dancers, and we know they are dancing together once again.
