James W. St. Pierre

James W. St. Pierre, 86, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Born on April 15, 1940, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, James was the son of the late Auguste St. Pierre and Irene (Dargie) Freedline. His father passed away before his birth, and James was raised by his mother and stepfather, Irving Freedline.

A proud United States Army veteran, James made Phoenix his home in 1972. An entrepreneur at heart, he established an antique shop on McDowell Road, specializing in antique restoration and refinishing. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him into real estate and contracting, where he renovated homes, developed properties, and pursued new opportunities. Resourceful, hardworking, and determined, James was always looking toward his next endeavor.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, James will be remembered most for the person he was. Funny, charming, loving, generous, and kind, he brought warmth and laughter to those around him. His sense of humor, welcoming personality, and generous heart left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.

James is survived by his loving wife, Olga Escobar; his four children, Joseph, James Robert, Eric James, and LeeAnn; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Barney Freedline and Forest St. Pierre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Auguste St. Pierre and Irene (Dargie) Freedline; his stepfather, Irving Freedline; his sister, Dolly; and his brothers, Barry, Frank, and Auguste.

James leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and cherished memories. His presence will be deeply missed, but the laughter he shared, the kindness he showed, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Reception: Friday, October 30, 2026, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 East Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona.

Burial: Friday, October 30, 2026, 1:30 p.m., National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 East Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
