Jean Rae Gaskin

On Monday, May 18, Jean Rae Gaskin, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Paradise Valley. Jean Rae was born to Virgil and Geneva Shute. She and her brother Virgil Shute Jr. (Kansas) grew up in Chandler until moving to Phoenix in the late 1940's. She attended North High School and the University of Arizona, where she was in the Delta Gamma sorority.

She met her future husband, John Edwards Gaskin while they both attended North High. They married on December 11, 1964 and had 55 years together. Theirs was a true love story. They were devoted to each other and set a beautiful example of marriage to their 3 children Christie Darby (Michael), Scott Gaskin (Jennifer) and Wendy Mulvihill (Michael) and five grandchildren; Michael Darby Jr., John Darby, Annie Mulvihill, Kate Mulvihill and Ella Mulvihill.

Jean Rae was devoted to her children and grandchildren. They were the lights of her life, and she doted on them any chance she got. They will all miss her immensely.
