Jean “Jeanne” Marie Puterbaugh (Sartain), age 69, passed away on March 10th, 2024 after a brief illness at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. She was born in Covina, California on January 23rd, 1955 to Jack L. Sartain and Clara V. Morris. She attended Hawthorne HS in Hawthorne, CA; Grays Harbor Community College in Aberdeen, WA obtaining her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) certification and Gateway College in Phoenix, AZ obtaining her Registered Nurse (RN). She moved to Arizona in 1994 from Lacey, Washington. She retired from a career in nursing as an RN for Hospice of the Valley.

Survivors include life partner Steve McGowan, son Carlos F. Gonzalez, and daughter Kathryn C. Sartain. Grandchildren Tyler Gonzalez, Andres Gonzalez, Jayden Sample, Marcos Gonzalez, Nikolas Gonzalez, and Christopher Carson. Sisters Jacqueline Sartain, Christine Dunham, and Shirley Sartain Romero.

She was preceded in death by Husband David Puterbaugh (2010), Mother Clara Sartain (1970), Father Jack Sartain (2007), and Sister Margaret Schwab (2006).

Jeanne was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, spouse, sister, and friend to many. She was very passionate about her profession in nursing. Her compassion, tender care, and dedication to her patients was unmatched. She was always willing to lend her experience as a resource for co-workers and to mentor new nurses. She enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, gardening, concerts, traveling, and supporting her children and grandchildren in their life journeys and accomplishments.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at 2:00pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
