Jeanne Marie Bandy

Phoenix

Jeanne Marie Bandy was born November 12, 1956 in Chicago Illinois and passed away on August 30, 2026 at the age of 69 in Phoenix, Arizona. She is survived by her husband Gregory L Bandy of 47 years; she is proceeded by her father Edward George McDonough, her mother Rosemary Marie McDonough and her mother-in-law Shirley Ann Bandy. She leaves behind two wonderful children, Matthew George Bandy and Kathryn Marie Fatzinger, a son-in-law, Joshua Fatzinger, and their five beautiful children Ellie, JJ, Fulton, Greta, and John. She is also survived by her two brothers, Edward “Bud” McDonough and Michael McDonough and their loving spouses, Judith McDonough and Annette McDonough, as well as a sister-in-law Cynthia Wolaver, her husband Rob Wolaver, a brother-in-law Carl Bandy and his wife, Heather Bandy. Finally, she is also survived by her father-in-law George Eugene Bandy. It wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention our two lifelong friends, Russ and Rose Bartos and their daughter Crystal whom we’ve known since 1980.

She moved from Chicago in 1974 to Phoenix where for the most part she’s lived ever since. She developed rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 17 which affected every aspect of her life, but you would’ve never known it by her love of life, compassion for life, and ability to enjoy life right up to the very end. She obtained her Master’s Degree in counseling in 1991 and she was quite proud of that just behind being a great mother to her children, spouse, friend, and companion to myself.

She enjoyed sports, particularly the Cardinals, Sun Devils, and Phoenix Suns; the theatre, symphonies, vacationing in Las Vegas, cruises, and Disneyland. When at home one of her favorite things to do was getting together with family and friends for card nights.

She is missed by me and everyone around her, but she is in a far better place, free of pain, moving effortlessly in a more perfect body, which she so richly deserves.

Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, October 3rd at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
