JoAnn "Jo" Chavez

Joann “Jo” Chavez entered into rest in Globe, Arizona on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Joann was born on Oct. 22, 1954 in St. John’s, Arizona. She is survived by her five children Daniel (Tina) Luna, Jon (Wendy) Luna, Andrea Luna (Andrea Viramontes), Katie Galindo and Oksana Ahumada, along with seven grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers and countless nieces, nephews and more.

Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Luna, her older brother Al Chavez, and finally her mother and father Katie and Vito Chavez.

A Celebration of Jo's Life will take place at the American Legion Post 41, 715 S 2nd Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85003 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th.

This was a woman unlike any other, and she lived a life where she was happy, not with things or objects, but with love and actions freely given.

Therefore, in lieu of donations, her family asks that you reach out to others, connect with family and help those in need. You never know whose life or day you may change, and that was the very heart of our mother. She changed everyone she ever met and could never be forgotten.
