Juanita "Jenny" A. Gonzales

Juanita “Jenny” A. Gonzales, 96, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away August 25th, 2026. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Frank Gonzales; her 2 daughters Cruzita Gomez and Maria Borkes; her mother Dolores Verdugo; her 3 sisters, and brother. She is survived by her sister Margarita “Blondie” Santana and her 2 children Frank Gonzales and Juanita Acosta. Also, survived by 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. She was truly devoted to her family in all age ranges and created a safe place for many, no matter the relationship. 

She worked as a waitress, seamstress, and spent a period of her life at Motorola Solutions. She was deeply rooted in her faith and love for God. She had a passion for sewing, hosting holidays, cooking many dishes, and loved traditions where she could see all of her family reunite. She lit up every room she graced and filled it with her unique sense of humor that never failed to make those around her laugh. 

She had a special ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, appreciated, and loved; making her the true matriarch of her family. Juanita appreciated watching Telenovelas and old Disney movies with the children in her home. She was surrounded by love and affection in life through death until she passed and will be deeply missed by all. 

Viewing services will be on Thursday, September 17th, 4PM-7PM, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Friday, September 18th, at 10AM. Graveside to follow at 11:30AM at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
