In Loving Memory of Judy Spence Wools

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Judi Spence Wools, who entered into eternal rest, guided by angels into the loving embrace of God. Her valiant battle with illness has concluded, and she now rests free from pain and the burdens of medical treatment and appointments. Judi faced her final chapter with the same courage, resilience, and quiet strength that defined her entire life.

Judi Ann Spence was born in Tempe, Arizona, to Casey and Lorraine Spence. She was the younger sister of Jim Spence and was preceded in death by her brother John and her twin sister Joan, who passed before her birth. Judi never had the chance to know her mother, who passed shortly after she was born, a loss that shaped her early life in profound ways.

Raised by her father, Judi learned independence and selfreliance at a young age. She was known for her ability to “take control” of any situation placed before her, a trait that stayed with her throughout her life. In her youth, she loved dancing with friends, indulging in sweet treats, and going to the movies—simple joys that brought her great happiness.

She attended St. Catherine grade school, South Mountain and St. Mary’s High School, where she formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. After graduating, she moved with her father to California. There she met and married Stephen Wools, and together they built a home and welcomed two children: their son Shawn and their daughter Casee.

After her father’s passing and as life’s paths shifted, Judi and Stephen eventually divorced. Judi, Shawn, and Casee returned to Phoenix, where she reconnected with lifelong friends and rebuilt a new chapter with strength and determination. During this time, Judi and her children were reunited with the Bootz family who have always provided unwavering love and support. The Bootz family remains a very strong and meaningful presence in Judi’s life and in the lives of her children.

Throughout her life, Judi worked in many roles, ultimately finding her professional home in bookkeeping, accounting and Tax. She concluded her career at Discount Tire, where she dedicated 18 years of hard work, loyalty, and commitment—qualities deeply appreciated by her colleagues.

Judi was a generous soul whose life centered around her family. She possessed a sharp wit and a dry sense of humor that could lighten any moment. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with friends, savoring Mexican food, gardening, DIY projects and continuing to indulge her lifelong sweet tooth. Even as she battled cancer, she demonstrated extraordinary courage, embodying the spirit of a true warrior.

Above all, Judi’s heart belonged to her beloved children, Shawn and Casee. They were the source of her greatest joy, her deepest pride, and the unwavering focus of her life.

Her legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength will forever live on through them.
