Julie Hansen Suto, 64, passed away after a short, but brave and fierce fight against cancer. Surrounded by love as she moved on to her next journey with loved ones who passed before her, Julie has left a lasting legacy and impact on all who knew her.
Born on March 3, 1962 to Robert and Eileen Hansen, Julie was the first born of five siblings, Linnea, Lori, Beth and Erik. Never the shy one, Julie was known for taking control, and this trait was with her until the very end when she left this earth on her own terms when she was good and ready. Julie’s childhood and teen-aged years in Angola NY were filled with 4-H, teaching CCD classes and singing in the choir at Most Precious Blood parish, and cheering on Lake Shore Central’s boy’s swim team as a student manager. Julie loved absolutely everything about Angola and Western NY, most especially the Buffalo Bills, Connor’s Hot Dog Stand, and Mickey Rats Beach Club, where she met her husband and life partner, William Suto.
A proud graduate of Lake Shore Central, Julie entered the workforce one day after graduating and never looked back. Her professional career included M&T Bank, OSHA, as well as American Fence in Phoenix AZ for almost 30 years. Her work ethic remained unmatched by absolutely no one, even up until her last day with American Fence.
After Julie and William moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1988 with their two children, Raymond and Jacqueline, she connected with St. Theresa Parish and remained active throughout her life. There was never a parish dinner or event where Julie was not present either as a guest or as a volunteer. Julie was giving of her time, love and prayers to all who needed her, especially her neighbors, and eventually her parents, who moved to Phoenix in 2012.
Julie was preceded in death by her husband/life partner, Wiliam Suto, and her parents, Robert and Eileen Hansen. She is survived by an abundance of beloved family and friends, including her children Raymond Suto (Kasey Smith), and grandchildren Andrew and Evelyn Suto; Jacqueline (Sean) Irwin, and grandchildren, Jaedyn and Dillon Irwin. Stepdaughter Kristen Suto (Yvonne McCray). Siblings Linnea (Brad) Hansen; Lori (Bill) Sliwa; Beth (Nathan) Wymer and nephew Zachary Wymer; Erik Hansen and nieces Shelby and Lindsey Hansen. Special friend and partner Phil Hadsell.
A private memorial service is planned by the family.
