Larry James Himes Sr.

Larry James Himes Sr. passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 59. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Who will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him.

On April 4, 1967, Homer Lawrence Himes and Doris Fay Harless welcomed Larry to the world in Phoenix, Arizona. Larry married the love of his life, Theresa Eleanor Chavez, on November 30, 1991. Together, they were blessed with two children, Larry Himes Jr. and Christopher Himes.

Larry was the life of every party and could talk your ear off. He was a devoted friend who would offer a helping hand and his wealth of knowledge to anyone who needed it (whether they asked for it or not). As a devoted father, Larry coached his son’s sports teams, passing on his love of sports to them. He enjoyed going to Rocky Point, camping, and cheering on his Arizona sports teams.

Larry is survived by his wife, Theresa Himes; children, Robert Echave, Larry Himes Jr., and Christopher Himes; and grandchildren, Jayden, Lilyana, Xavian, Winifred, Harriet, Asher, and Bennet.

Family and friends are invited to attend Larry’s celebration of life on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at VFW Post 1433, 7618 N. 63rd Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
