Lawrence Coleman Geare

Larry Geare Sr. (95) passed away peacefully at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 18th, 2026. Born on January 6th, 1931, to Edwin and Catherine Geare in Phoenix, Arizona, making him a true phoenix native. He was so very proud of his heritage as a Geare and to be a part of the Central Avenue Dairy he loved so much.

Larry attended St. Francis Elementary, St. Mary's High School and Arizona State University. He loved his time in the USAF at Luke Air Force Base working on the planes.

He met his match in 1949 at high school when he met Suzanne Marie Lewis, his soul mate, the one true love of his life. They married in 1955, spending a beautiful 41 years together.

Larry obtained his Real Estate Brokers license early in life, launching his commercial Real Estate career for his remaining 70 years. He was an entrepreneur before it was even called that! He loved renewable energy, however, had a true passion for the water world specializing in water rights and transfers. He loved to talk about anything water. Larry truly loved to work.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman following in his father’s footsteps. Later sharing this tradition with his son and grandson.

Larry is survived by his children Anne, Larry (Robin), Tina, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his little sister, Cathy (Geare) Gwinner. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue, his parents, brothers and little sister Peggy Geare.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 6th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 East Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85018.
