Lori Kaye Sellers

Lori Kaye Sellers was the epitome of love. Love for her family, love for her friends, love for her neighbors, and love for life. Lori peacefully departed this world on June 23rd, 2026 at the age of 66. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lori lived her life as a servant of the Lord; always willing to aid anyone in need. She dedicated her life to helping the less fortunate and disenfranchised people of the world, as evidenced by her steadfast support and volunteering through St. Vincent De Paul (SVdP). Lori dedicated countless hours helping the neighbors of Saints Simon & Jude Conference, and held leadership positions in the organization. She held the positions of both President of Saints Simon & Jude Conference as well as District 6 President. At the ground level, she saw the image of God within everyone she touched. In the higher leadership positions, she accelerated programs to enact change that assisted economically disadvantaged and impoverished populations within the greater Phoenix area.

Lori was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and marvelous family member. As the keystone of the Sellers/Irwin family, she hosted family dinners, celebrations, and holidays. She always had a warm feeling and “a feeling of home”. As a mother, she went above and beyond to be involved in her children’s lives, leading by example to show how to be a good person in her actions. As a grandmother, she continued this tradition, never missing a chance to be with her grandchildren.

Lori was a proud Phoenician, living in the Valley of the Sun her entire life. She attended Saints Simon & Jude Elementary School, Washington High School, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Arizona State University.

Lori is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Joel Sellers; her father and mother, John and Carol Irwin; her brother, John Irwin II (Gayla); her children, Thomas Sellers (Tierney) and Rachel Rowe (Trey); as well as her grandchildren, Sophie and Jack Sellers, her exceptionally dear nieces and nephews, Grace (Scott), Anna, John (Alberto), Margaret, Simon, and Constance; and a wide circle of family and friends. We find peace in knowing she has been reunited in heaven with her sisters, Amy and Lisa Irwin, and a host of cherished loved ones.

Lori always made life fun and exciting, making the people she encountered feel seen and heard. She loved fiercely and deeply. She was generous with her time, her energy, and her love. Lori was a beloved member of her community and a testament to “Faith in Action”, leading us through her works, deeds, and even small moments - how to live a Christ-centered and loving life.

Lori’s Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9th, 5:00pm-7:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm at Saints Simon and Jude Cathedral. Her Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 10th at 10:00am at Saints Simon and Jude Cathedral, located at 6351 N. 27th Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85017.

Her interment will follow the Mass at 12:00pm at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery located at 2033 N 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008. After the burial service, family and friends are welcome to a reception to celebrate Lori’s life back at Saints Simon and Jude’s Smith Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Society of St. Vincent De Paul/ SS. Simon and Jude Conference which was an organization that Lori so loved and honored.
