Lucinda “Cindy” McClellan passed on May 29, 2026 in Phoenix, AZ, surrounded by her family. After 50 years in Rome, GA, Cindy moved to Phoenix to live close to her oldest grand-daughter.
Cindy was born in Hammond, IN June 15, 1940 and moved to Rome with her husband David and her 2 daughters Lynne and Connie in 1971.
She was a devoted labor and delivery RN at Floyd Hospital, later Floyd Medical Center, where she helped countless women give birth and an invaluable triage nurse at Norton’s Women’s Clinic until the time of her retirement.
Anyone who knew Cindy, loved Cindy and came up to her all over town to express their gratitude to her.
Cindy lost her husband David in 1993 and her daughter, Connie in 2012. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ginny and Debbie; by her best friend Margie Frazier and her travel companion Martha Ann Kaufman.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Lynne; grandchildren and their families, Robin and Leydi, Lucy and Ian and Tyler and Randall; great grandchildren Heyli, Ché, Robin Jr., Anaïs, Matéo, Ripp and baby Enzo; cousins, Pam and her daughter Elizabeth and family, Margaret and her daughter, Carrie and family; brother-in-law, John and her nephews Gregory, Matthew and Alex and her grand-niece, Emma; nieces, Julie and Debbie and her grandniece Alexandra; her extended family members in Phoenix, St Martin and Anguilla; countless friends and families in Rome too numerous to mention.
Cindy will be cremated according to her wishes; her family will memorialize her life.
