Manuel L. Cordova, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at home surrounded by his family in Phoenix, AZ.
He was the only son in a family of four children. Born to Mauricio & Inocencia Cordova on April 30, 1936 in Phoenix, AZ. When his parents passed away he was cared for by his Tia Francisca. He was preceded in death by his sisters Adelina, Micha & Rosie.
Manuel was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his beloved wife Frances of 68 years and his eight children Rev. Father Ephrem Cordova, Mauricio (Jill), Marcos (Angie), Joanna (Anthony), Graciela (Arturo), Martin, Carmen (Wes), Miguel & his 11 grand children Samuel, Gianna, Benjamin, Sabastian,
Isaac, Aaron, Matteus, Mireya, Noah, Bella & Elise.
Manuel's most enduring legacy will be his leading, rearing and raising of his family in the Catholic Faith. Thanks to the persistence of his good friends Joseph and Delia Vila he joined the CMRI traditional movement that upheld the Tridentine Latin Mass & the true Catholic Faith.
Manuel's life was filled with the things he valued most, his love for God & our Blessed Mother, his faith and his family. He also enjoyed dancing, walking, lemon meringue pie & was a master storyteller.
Viewing/visitation & Rosary will be held Wednesday, April 29th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Whitney & Murphy funeral home 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018.
Rosary at 10am & Requiem Mass @ 10:30 am will be held Thursday April 30th at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church @ 2533 W. Myrtle Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85051 followed by interment at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008 followed by a wake at the VFW @ 4853 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018. All are welcome and encouraged to come and spend time together & enjoy some food and refreshments.
