Manuel Garcia Rodriguez

Manuel García Rodriguez at the age of 66 passed away on April 29th, 2026. He was born on April 12th, 1960 in a small town of Agua Prieta, Sonora, México. At the age of 17, he started dating his neighbor and childhood friend Maria. That was the beginning of a beautiful marriage. In 1980, after they got married, they moved to the state of Arizona to live the American dream.

A year later they started their family, they had four children, Adriana, Ana, Jesus, and Irene. He was also a proud grandfather to five grandsons and three granddaughters.

Manuel was no stranger to hard work. He worked several jobs, including working at hotels and then later found a state government job where he worked for two school districts before retiring in 2022.

Manuel participated in many sports throughout his life, but basketball was always his favorite. He participated in several basketball tournaments hosted by his friend Tommy Núñez. He then went onto host a tournament of his own.

To know Manuel was to know how much he loved the Phoenix Suns. He loved attending the Suns’ rallies, games, and wearing the Suns’ merch any chance he got. He was a lifelong Phoenix Suns fan.

He would often spend his time, listening to music whether it was while doing yardwork, chores, or just sitting outside and enjoying his day. He passed his love for music onto his kids and grandkids.

Although most people will say, they have the best father, Manuel is truly the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for. Manuel was hard-working, loyal, and most importantly, kind, making friends everywhere he went.

He lived his life honorably through his faith and beliefs, which he instilled into his family. Manuel was proud of his family and wife. He stated several times that he won the lottery with the family that he was blessed with. The love his family has for him is unmeasurable. He was taken from us far too soon. There will never be another man like him. Te queremos siempre Apa. Go Suns!!

Mass (Spanish) will be celebrated at 2:00P.M. on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N 24th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85008.
