Marcia Kay Hansen Lewis Johnson lovingly known as Marcy was born November 25, 1940 to Harlan and Susan Hansen. She was baptized at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Ferndale, CA on December 22, 1940. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, being confirmed September 13, 1959. During her many years in the church she volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher and taught Vacation Bible School. She was also quite involved in LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League).
Marcia was blessed to have two children, Dawn Crawford (husband Steve) and John Lewis (wife Meredith Lee).
She has five brothers and one sister: Roger (deceased), Christopher (wife Stacey), Craig (wife Lisa), Kevin (wife Augie), Darren (wife Karen), & Darcy (husband Ken).
Growing up, she was very active in various school clubs and organizations. After graduating high school, she attended Humboldt State University, attended beauty school to become a hairdresser, got married and became a stay-at-home mom raising her two kids Dawn & John. Marcia went back to Humboldt State University in her 40's to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Liberal Studies and a teaching credential. Marcia taught second, third and fourth grade in Fullerton, CA. Her proudest working accomplishments were teaching a third/fourth grade combination class. She enjoyed watching the growth and learning of her students from one year to the next.
Marcia enjoyed camping, traveling and visiting many different kinds of museums. Marcia was also active in local civic events and supporting the military veterans in her later years.
Marcia loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She would share her love of the Lord with friends, family and anybody who would listen. She was very strong in her faith and spent many hours reading & studying her Bible. She attended church on a regular basis and she often said, "I don't know or understand how anybody could live without a true relationship with Jesus". She experienced many trials and tribulations throughout her years, but through them all, Jesus was walking hand and hand with her... sometimes even carrying her. She never doubted that for one minute.
