Mark Andrew Monserez, born on July 19, 1951, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. Mark lived a life full of purpose and fulfillment, leaving behind a legacy enriched by his career as an esteemed attorney at law and his dedication to family and community.
Mark's educational journey began at Marian High School in South Bend, Indiana, followed by St. Norbert's College in Wisconsin. He ultimately earned his Juris Doctorate from Notre Dame Law School in 1983, laying the foundation for a distinguished legal career.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Mark was an avid traveler who found joy in exploring different countries and cultures. His curiosity about the world extended beyond his personal travels; he actively contributed to his community as a member of several committees focused on arts and environmental issues. Mark's commitment to service was exemplified through his participation in the Franciscan Renewal Center in Phoenix, as well as his role as a board member of his homeowners association in the Biltmore community.
Family was paramount to Mark, and he took immense pride in being a father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Mackenzie Anne Monserez, and her spouse Joel, who reside in Geneva, Switzerland, along with their son Xavier. Mark’s son, John Michael Monserez, carries forward the family’s legacy from London, United Kingdom.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anne Monserez, who cherished him throughout his life and shaped his values and principles.
A Mass in celebration of Mark’s life will be held on September 12, 2025, at the Conventual Church of Our Lady of the Angels in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The service will commence at 10:00 AM, concluding at 11:00 AM. In this time of remembrance, he will be honored for the indelible mark he made on the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Mark Andrew Monserez will forever be remembered as a devoted family man, a passionate advocate for his community, and a friend to all.
