It is with deep love and sadness that we share the passing of Marlene Myles of Phoenix, Arizona.
Born in 1934 in Trenton, New Jersey, Marlene entered the world alongside her twin brother, Ken Fox, the youngest of five children. In 1949, the family moved to Los Angeles, where she graduated from Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra, California.
In 1955, Marlene married the love of her life, Donald L. Myles, Sr., and together they raised three children: Don Jr., Leslie (Crocchi), and Lorie (McCann).
Marlene’s zest for life was evident from an early age. A proud field hockey player in high school, she loved to share stories of using her stick to keep opponents at bay. She carried that same joyful, spirited energy throughout her life. Her greatest gift was her ability to connect with others—making friends wherever she went. She did double duty most Sundays, singing with the choir at Mountain View Lutheran Church then serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She often joked that she was covering all her bases! She volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul and enjoyed laughing with friends over a glass of wine at The Cellar in Ahwatukee where she became a regular. She filled every room with warmth and conversation. However, Marlene’s true happiness was spending time with her family.
Marlene is lovingly remembered by her son Don (Doreen) Myles, her daughters Leslie (Dan) Crocchi and Lorie (Brian) McCann, and her cherished grandchildren: Heather, Steven, Mary, Tommy, Shawna, Scott, and Seth and great-grandchildren, Maddie and Ellie, who brought her immense joy.
Sadly, the world has lost someone who truly loved life, greeted family, friends and strangers with a smile, and embraced each day with an open heart. Mom, you will be forever in our hearts.
