Christopher Bradley Niederauer

On July 1, 2023 this planet lost a great man. Born February 23, 1969, Christopher Bradley Niederauer spent his 54 years bringing joy, love, kindness, and more laughter than anyone thought possible to his family, friends, colleagues, fraternity brothers, airline crews, bartenders, hotel staff, and every single person who crossed paths with him. Chris was a father, a son, a brother, a cousin, and the most loyal best friend anyone could ask for.

Born on George Airforce Base in Victorville, California to Susan and Chip, Chris grew up in Phoenix, went to college at the University of Arizona where he became a life-long Wildcat, and spent his life traveling the globe – for work and adventure. He and Myla raised their children, Hannah and Max in Danville, California before he returned to Phoenix, and put down roots in a north central Phoenix neighborhood where he was loved by many.

Chris was happiest in flip flops and a well-ironed Dodger-blue shirt. He cherished summer trips fly-fishing on the Bitterroot in Montana, cooking elaborate dinners for friends and family, eating popsicles and gummy bears, feeding ducks at any park he lived near, weekly lunches with his mom at Wally’s, eating sushi with Hannah, watching sports with Max, and putting together ridiculously complicated furniture from Ikea.

Celebrating his life means throwing parties that have printed invitations, telling those close to you that you love them each and every day, and filling the world with joy and laughter.

He will be missed by his two wonderful children, Hannah (17) and Max (16), Mom Susan, Sister Kate and nieces Gabby and Sophie, Cousin Liz (John), the Field and Durkee Families, and so many friends who were his family, especially Tim and Devon.

A Mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Ave. in Phoenix on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M., followed by a private family interment.
