Olivia “Sue” Burwell Chornopysky, 85, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on October 15, 2025. She was born on November 24, 1939, in Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Chornopysky, and granddaughter Danielle Stewart. Survivors include a son: William Morgan, and daughters: Natalie Belotti (Michele/Michael), Ann Guzylak (Steve), Teresa Abernethy (Craig), Susana Tzadok (Moshe), 11 grandchildren: Christopher, Kathleen, Matthew, Daniel, Britni, Katey, Caroline, Lucas, Cody, Shauna, Camelia, four great-grandchildren, expected great-grandchild due October, and brother: Dr. Joseph T. Morgan.
Olivia was a lifelong resident of Phoenix, AZ. She graduated from ASU in 1961 as part of the first graduating class of Registered Nurses. She began her nursing career as a school nurse and eventually retired from the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. Olivia dedicated her life to caring for people.
Olivia cherished the San Diego seaside, spending summers there from childhood into adulthood. Her passion for music enriched her children’s lives, offering them many musical opportunities. An avid football fan, she cheered on the San Francisco 49ers each season. As a mother and individual,
Olivia was truly exceptional. She embodied unconditional love, unwavering Catholic faith, resilient spirit, and endless generosity shown through her care for family and friends.
Funeral Mass, Monday, October 27, 2025, 11:30 A.M., at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr, Scottsdale, AZ. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, 23015 Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
