Colleen Draklich

Scottsdale

Draklich, Patricia Colleen (Burns) – Loving mother and Champion of Family; passed away on May 4, 2024. Born in Fresno, CA March 27, 1933. Colleen, ever the daughter of a Senator, was wonderfully and naturally situationally aware. Often, artfully navigating the circumstance or individual while earning the respect and admiration of those she met along the way.

She married her best friend, Bob Draklich, in July of 1962 and lived in Fresno until they moved their family to Phoenix, AZ in 1970. Upon their arrival in AZ, the Draklich’s became members of the Arizona Country Club where they enjoyed many dear friends and celebrations. Colleen and Bob were instrumental in the education and success of their three boys, as well as their subsequent families. In their 47 years together, they worked tirelessly, raised a family, and traveled the world; having never left each other’s side and enjoying one another till the end. In her later years, strong in her Catholic faith, Colleen looked ever forward to reuniting with her beloved Bob and other cherished family and friends who had gone before her.

Colleen is survived by sons: Scott along with his wife Mae, Nick, and Mike along with his wife Sarah. Grandchildren: Brandy, Samantha, Nicole, Brittney, Ashley, Jake, and Chase. Lifelong friends (since the age of 6): Nancy Helm and Mary Jones.

Our family would like to thank Dan and the team at Tranquility Assisted Living, especially Johnny and Melody for all their effort and care of our mother.

An informal celebration will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix 85018.
