Patricia Hexiquio, loved by many, age 62, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 24, 2025, at Horizon Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Glendale.
Patricia was born August 31, 1963, in French Camp, CA. She spent her childhood and adolescent years between Phoenix, Las Cruces, and El Paso. She enjoyed talking about her childhood in El Paso and her many adventures walking into the Ciudad Juarez. She loved talking about her time in Las Cruces and time spent with her father (Jose Minjares). She loved recounting attending Phoenix Union High School, and the many changes with the layout and development of Downtown Phoenix. She would recollect the moments working alongside her mother (Socorro Montes) in the hotel industries. Of all the stories, she enjoyed talking about the day she met her future husband (Onesimo Hexiquio).
Patricia had a passion for helping others. She volunteered as a teachers aid at her local Alhambra Elementary School District. She touched the lives of many students and parents through the English as a Second Language Program. She also took part in the Foster Care Program. She provided love and a safe space for children transitioning into their permanent homes.
As a fan of music, she enjoyed attending many concerts throughout the years. Most recently she had a chance to see some of her favorite artist like Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and Yandel.
Patricia also had a passion for cooking and loved to share a meal with those around her. Dubbed the Tamale Queen, she made delicious tamales all throughout the year for friends, family, and loved ones.
Patricia loved her family. She would often express how proud she was of her two sons (Roger and Charlie). Her boys were her world. Those who knew Patricia also knew her boys through the stories she told.
Patricia enjoyed making everlasting friendships. She looked forward to each week at the Adult Health Center of Glendale. She felt blessed to have found the New Testament Christian Church and to be a part of the Sisterhood Fellowship. She was never shy to strike up a conversation. She loved to express herself through words and clothing. She was famous for her conversations in Spanglish. Often, bringing flavor to the words she spoke. She adored her clothing style and accessories that went with it. She loved wearing headbands, crowns, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. She would often share these special items with the people around her.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Roger Hexiquio (Jennie), Charlie Hexiquio (Rosana), and two brothers (Miguel & Alex Minjares).
She was preceded in death by her husband (Onesimo Hexiquio), parents (Socorro Montes, Jose Minjares), and brother (Juan Minjares).
Viewing will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 from 10AM - 12PM including Service from 12PM - 1PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home 4800 E Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018.
Burial Service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at 1:30 PM at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery 2033 N 48th St., Phoenix, AZ 85008.
